Building an application is not a trivial task. Some view it as a simple project that can be undertaken by a couple of developers, capable of producing ‘code’ that satisfies ‘some needs’.
At Technopolis S.A. we adopt a completely different approach. An ‘application’ is a complex corporate system, which must perform under any different situation and deliver measurable results. It is only under these conditions that this ‘corporate resource’ can be evaluated on specific metrics such as ‘cost to build’, ‘Return On Investment’, ‘corporate value to customers’, etc.
At Technopolis S.A. each Application Development project starts with identifying the key components that must be met, in order the project to be succesfull. Project ‘owners’ are contacted for extracting all available information and a detailed ‘deliverable components’ issue containing – in both business and technical jargon – all project details is agreed upon with the customer.
With carefull choice of appropriate technology (be it PHP or Java environment) and exploiting all modern development environments (Struts, Hibernate, Spring, J2EE, J2RE, etc.), each application is developed in its own ‘development platform’ and delivered on distinct ‘production systems’. Since no application lives ‘in isolation’ in the corporate environment, interfaces to existing corporate back-end systems are carefully drawn and developed, streamlining adoption of the new system and maximizing immediate usability.
But the main advantage of Technopolis S.A. doesn’t end with project delivery. They extend to a mutually beneficial cooperation in the frame of which, applications are promptly supported for possible bug-fixes and extended with ever changing business requests. And these services offered in the frame of specific SLAs, ensuring application availability and – at the end of the day – customer satisfaction.
