Modern web content should be based on powerful, flexible and easy-to-use Web Content Management System (WCMS), allowing properly authorized Content Managers and Authors to update information anytime, from any place.

Instead of developing its own WCMS, Technopolis S.A., adopted a more ‘open’ approach. After careful evaluation of available products, both on technical and business terms, we chose the best available platforms, on which we built a significant expertise. And, since ‘there is no single medicine for every disease’, two distinct platforms were chosen:

• Drupal was on top of the list among Open Source Web Content Management Systems, for addressing the needs of corporate web sites, striving for user-friendliness, ease of support and speed of development.
• Liferay Enterprise Portal was the choice for mission-critical enterprise-grade application integration web portal platform, including Enterprise Content Management modules, tightly integrated with corporate systems and providing a robust, extensible application development environment.

Today, having accumulated more than 4 years of expertise on each of these platforms, Technopolis S.A. has successfully implemented more than 25 web sites based on Drupal WCMS and more than 10 installations of Liferay Enterprise Portal and a substantial number of standards-based additional custom modules developed for each platform during the above projects.
